Meeting to Discuss and Prepare for the Implementation of Allied Health Professions Act 2016 (ACT 774)

A meeting was held on 18th July 2020 (Saturday) at the Ministry of Health Training Institute (Medical Laboratory Technology), Kuala Lumpur to discuss and prepare for the implementation of Allied Health Professions Act 2016 (Act 774). 

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Wan Shahriman Yushdie Bin Wan Yusoff, who has been recently appointed as Member of the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC) representing Medical Laboratory Technologist profession.

Among issues discussed include the qualifications for registration as practitioners, standard of practice, registration procedures and so on.

MIMLS was represented at this meeting by our President Mr. Khew Jye Kang (City University), Honorary Secretary Mr. Tan Kian Shing (Synapse Laboratory), Council Members Mr. Badarul Zaman Abdul Aziz, Ms. Harvinder Kaur Lakhbeer Singh (University of Malaya Medical Centre) and Ms. Rafidah Mohamad (Kolej Sains Kesihatan PPUM) and member Mr. Mohd Fahmi Mastuki (Universiti Teknologi MARA).
