MIMLS paid a courtesy call on the Director-General of Health Malaysia, Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah on 24th September 2020 (Thursday) at the Director-General's Office, Ministry of Health Malaysia, Putrajaya. 

The call was made to introduce about MIMLS and to invite Tan Sri Director-General to deliver a keynote address at the upcoming Asia Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (AAMLS) Webinar hosted by MIMLS.

During the call, both parties also exchanged views on issues related to the medical laboratory profession in Malaysia.

MIMLS also prepared a special token of appreciation to Tan Sri Director-General for his exemplary leadership and professionalism in leading the Ministry of Health in the battle against COVID-19. The Director-General's portrait was painted by our very own MIMLS member Mr. Mohd Fahmi Mastuki, who is a medical laboratory technologist and lecturer at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).

Members of MIMLS delegation include our President Mr. Khew Jye Kang, President-Elect Ms. Harvinder Kaur Lakhbeer Singh, Honorary Secretary Mr. Tan Kian Shing and Council Member Ms. Rafidah Mohamad.

Also present were Deputy Director of Medical Development Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia Datin Sri Dr. Asmah bt Samat, Director of Allied Health Sciences Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia Mdm. Hajah Farina Zulkernain, Deputy Director Mr. Mohamed Asri Abd. Rahman and Member of the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC) Mr. Wan Shahriman Yushdie Wan Yusoff.
